Basketball Game Preview: J.R. Tucker Tigers vs. Godwin Eagles

J.R. Tucker is 2-8 against Godwin since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The J.R. Tucker Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Godwin Eagles at 7:00 p.m. J.R. Tucker is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

J.R. Tucker will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Freeman, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. J.R. Tucker came out on top against Freeman by a score of 61-52 on Friday. The Tigers pushed the score to 53-30 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mavericks cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Godwin suffered their closest defeat since February 13, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Deep Run by a score of 47-44.

Godwin's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for J.R. Tucker, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-2.

J.R. Tucker strolled past Godwin when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 57-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for J.R. Tucker since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
