Humble Christian triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Noah Vickers

Recap: Humble Christian Cougars vs. School of the Woods Wildcats

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Texas Christian, the Humble Christian Cougars were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past School of the Woods 38-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Humble Christian has posted yet this season.

Noah Vickers was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Kyron Williams was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adam Zagaar, who scored eight points along with five assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Tyler Gwinn, who scored eight points along with two steals.

Humble Christian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for School of the Woods, they bumped their record down to 10-13 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Humble Christian will face off against Banff at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for School of the Woods, they will head out on the road to challenge Texas Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Texas Christian will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
