Huguenot skates past Monacan with ease

Recap: Huguenot Falcons vs. Monacan Chiefs

Even though The Huguenot Falcons have not done well against the Monacan Chiefs recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Huguenot took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 41-6 victory over Monacan. Given Huguenot's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Monacan is ranked 201st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Huguenot got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jason Wright out in front who threw for 300 yards while picking up 14.3 yards per attempt. Iveon Lewis also helped out with an impressive 110 receiving yards.

The win makes it two in a row for Huguenot and bumps their season record up to 7-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25 points. As for Monacan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Huguenot will be playing in front of their home fans against Powhatan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Powhatan will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Monacan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
