Basketball Game Preview: Livingston Lions vs. Shepherd Pirates

Livingston is on a six-game streak of home losses, Shepherd an eight-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The Livingston Lions will host the Shepherd Pirates at 5:45 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Livingston came up short against Hardin-Jefferson and fell 52-41. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 966th, while the Hawks are ranked 420th).

Meanwhile, Shepherd lost 51-28 to Hargrave on Friday.

Shepherd's loss dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Livingston, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-20.

Everything went Livingston's way against Shepherd when the teams last played back in January, as Livingston made off with a 46-25 victory. Will Livingston repeat their success, or does Shepherd have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
