Basketball Recap: Jacksonville Crimsons vs. Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones

Jacksonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat. They were beaten by the Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones 56-25. The Crimsons were not able to make up for their loss to the Cyclones from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Maressa Williams and Zara Harper certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Williams posted ten points, while Harper earned eight points.

Jacksonville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-27. As for Sacred Heart-Griffin, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-14 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jacksonville will take on Decatur Eisenhower at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sacred Heart-Griffin, they will challenge Normal West at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Sacred Heart-Griffin is facing Normal West at the right time seeing as Normal West is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
