Baseball Recap: Arroyo Starts Season with Win on the Road

Arroyo had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Azusa Aztecs. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Aztecs: they've now won four in a row.

Riley MacMillan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. MacMillan was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gio Perez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Coming up, Arroyo will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Sierra Vista at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Azusa, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will take on Edgewood at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
