Softball Recap: Bay Comes Up Short

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Bay nor Greene County made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Tigers fell 4-0 to the Wildcats. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Bea Buice spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Bay's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Greene County, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Looking ahead, Bay will challenge Vancleave at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Greene County, they will square off against Moss Point at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.27 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
