Houghton had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 64 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 74-49 margin over the Calumet Copper Kings. The Gremlins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 25 points or more this season.

Houghton pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.6 points per game. As for Calumet, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Houghton will venture away from home to square off against Ontonagon at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Houghton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Calumet, they will head out to take on Hancock at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
