Softball Recap: Dalton Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Dalton came tearing into Thursday's game with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Chippewa Chipps with a sharp 13-5 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-2 on Wednesday.

Peyton Neiger made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hannah Wenger, who went 4-for-5 with four runs and two stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Arabella Wenger, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Dalton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chippewa only managed eight hits.

Dalton's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Chippewa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-12.

Dalton has already played their next contest, a 6-3 defeat against Norwayne on the 9th. As for Chippewa, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-12 victory against Firestone on the 10th.
