Preview: Western Dubuque vs. Maquoketa
If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Western Dubuque. On Friday they will take on Maquoketa at 7:30 PM. Western Dubuque don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
After a disappointing zero points in their last contest, Western Dubuque made sure to put some points up on the board against Marion last Friday. Western Dubuque took their game against Marion by a conclusive 62-28 score. The lopsided score is just par for the course this season for Western Dubuque, who can brag about five blowout wins.
Meanwhile, Maquoketa have had to suffer through a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took their matchup against Wahlert 55-48. Yes, you read that final score correctly. Yes, this was football.
Their wins bumped Western Dubuque to 6-2 and Maquoketa to 1-6. After the lofty point totals in their previous games, we'll see if they're able to heat things up even more while facing each other.
