Unioto proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Paint Valley Bearcats 10-9. The Shermans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bearcats, too.

Mackenzie Welch was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. McKenna Williams was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Unioto was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Paint Valley, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Unioto will take on rival Piketon at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Paint Valley is set to challenge their familiar foe Westfall at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
