It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Opelika had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Auburn Tigers, sneaking past 74-71. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 75-67 win two weeks ago.

Loss or not, Auburn got some senior leadership from Trindon Manior and Antwane Daniels. Manior went 8-for-16 to rack up 21 points and five steals, while Daniels shot 40% from the field en route to 25 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. The contest was Daniels' ninth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Antonio Welch, who posted eight points.

Opelika is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. As for Auburn, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-11.

Opelika didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-46 victory against Central on the 14th. Auburn does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
