Softball Recap: Trenton Central Sets Scoring Season-High Against LEAP Academy

Trenton Central extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 13 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-10 in the process. They came up short against the LEAP Academy Lancers, falling 29-14. On the bright side, the 14- run performance marked the Tornadoes' highest-scoring match to date.

As for LEAP Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

For LEAP Academy's part, the team relied heavily on C Murray, who got on base in six of her seven plate appearances with four stolen bases, five runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was L Montanez, who got on base in five of her seven plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trenton Central will square off against Pemberton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.36 runs per game on average), something the Tornadoes will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for LEAP Academy, they will head out to challenge Cumberland Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Crusaders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17 runs per game on average), something the Lancers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
