North Johnston had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 9-7 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They blew past the Princeton Bulldogs 11-3. Considering the Panthers have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Victoria Sasser was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four runs and one double.
In other batting news, Sidney Stanley was incredible, going 4-for-5 with five RBI and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Samantha Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
North Johnston hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Princeton struck out 14 times.
As for Princeton, their record is now 10-9. They haven't had much luck with North Johnston recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
On Princeton's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mary Rachel Uzzell, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
As of now, neither North Johnston nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
