Basketball Recap: Pawnee Heights Comes Up Short

Pawnee Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 66-12 loss at the hands of the Spearville Lancers. The match marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Cody Holste was Pawnee Heights' leading scorer, having posted five points. Holste also led the team in rebounds with three. Clayton Hammeke took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Pawnee Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Spearville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pawnee Heights will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on South Central at 8:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. South Central has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 194 points over their last three games. Spearville also won't see the court for a while: their next contest is against Meade at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
