Volleyball Game Preview: Triton Trojans vs. Rossville Hornets

After both having extra time off, the Triton Trojans and the Rossville Hornets will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Triton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Fort Wayne Canterbury. The victory was nothing new for the Trojans as they're now sitting on six straight.

Sophie Howell went supernova, getting 14 digs and three aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Hammond, who had 13 digs.

Meanwhile, Rossville made easy work of Northfield on Saturday and carried off a 3-0 win.

Triton's victory bumped their record up to 24-11. As for Rossville, their win bumped their record up to 30-3.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's matchup: Triton hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 10.4 blocks per game. However, it's not like Rossville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.7 blocks. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
