Volleyball Recap: Southwest Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses at Home

There's no place like home for Southwest, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against the Eureka Springs Highlanders by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Highlanders, too.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 20-25, 25-14, 25-12.

Leading Southwest to victory were Olivia Hnem and Emma Outhouse. Hnem had 11 digs and seven aces, while Outhouse had six digs and six aces. That's the most digs Outhouse has posted over her last 11 matches.

They weren't the only good server: Southwest was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 21 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Southwest's victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-6-1. As for Eureka Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, Southwest will host Everton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eureka Springs, they are taking a road trip to take on Decatur at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
