Basketball Recap: Northeast Comes Up Short

Northeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Monticello Panthers and fell 56-27. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rebels of the 55-39 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Monticello, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.

Northeast will challenge Camanche at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Monticello, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Monticello Panthers duke it out with the Maquoketa Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Maquoketa will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Monticello surely won't give up without a fight.
