Softball Recap: Hazleton Area Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tunkhannock, Hazleton Area was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Crestwood Comets by a score of 12-9. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-7 back in April.

Hazleton Area got a massive performance out of Saige Klesh, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Klesh has posted over her last 12 games. Kayla Lagowy was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Hazleton Area kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Hazleton Area's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10. As for Crestwood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Hazleton Area and Crestwood will both be playing Pittston the next time they take the field. The Comets will head out to face the Patriots at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, while the Cougars will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
