Softball Recap: Avalon Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Avalon can now relate to. They fell just short of the Avery Bulldogs by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Avalon got a big performance out of Caty Betancourt, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn De La Garza, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Avalon's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Avery, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-14.

While Avalon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
