Basketball Recap: Falkner Takes a Loss

Falkner suffered their biggest loss since January 30th on Friday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Perry County Central Commodores an easy 66-42 win. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Falkner still got an impressive performance from Elijah Mauney, who posted 15 points and five boards. Gavin Wooley was another key player, putting up seven points.

Falkner has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Perry County Central, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Falkner and Mount Paran Christian will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Mount Paran Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Falkner likes a good challenge. As for Perry County Central, they and Loretto will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Loretto will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Perry County Central surely won't give up without a fight.
