Basketball Recap: Sneads Takes a Loss

After flying high against Cottondale last Tuesday, Sneads came back down to earth. The Sneads Pirates came up short against the Marianna Bulldogs on Thursday, falling 54-32. The loss was the Pirates' first of the season.

Marianna found their leader in sophomore Harmoni Gibson, who went 6 for 15 on her way to 16 points. Those 16 points gave Gibson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dessiah Gee, who posted nine points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Sneads fell to 2-1. As for Marianna, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Sneads didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 33-26 loss against Franklin County on the 6th. As for Marianna, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-33 defeat against Blountstown on the 9th.
