Recap: Lake Region Thunder vs. Mulberry Panthers
Even though the Mulberry Panthers scored an imposing 64 points on Monday, the Lake Region Thunder still came out on top. Lake Region snuck past Mulberry with a 68-64 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lake Region also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
It was another big night for Brenton Allen, who scored 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dwayne Lattimore, who scored 14 points.
Lake Region has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season. As for Mulberry, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Region will take on Lake Gibson at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Lake Gibson is ranked 337th, while Lake Region is ranked 327th). Mulberry won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lakeland Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Lakeland Christian is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
