Baseball Recap: South Oak Cliff Has No Trouble Against Bishop Dunne

South Oak Cliff had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Bishop Dunne on Monday. Everything went the South Oak Cliff Bears' way against the Bishop Dunne Falcons as the South Oak Cliff Bears made off with a 10-0 victory. This was payback for the Bears, who suffered a 1-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

King Hatley and Matthew Rodriguez did most of the damage at the plate: Hatley went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Rodriguez scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three RBI gave Hatley a new career-high. Jazzmon Powell was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

South Oak Cliff always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Dunne only posted an OBP of .300.

South Oak Cliff now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Bishop Dunne, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, South Oak Cliff will take on Polytechnic in a tournament on Thursday. As for Bishop Dunne, they will be playing at home against Trinity Leadership at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
