Basketball Recap: Miah Carman Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Milton-Union

Riverside hadn't done well against Milton-Union recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Everything went the Riverside Pirates' way against the Milton-Union Bulldogs as the Riverside Pirates made off with a 46-25 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Pirates' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 262nd).

Riverside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Miah Carman led the charge by putting up 12 points. The dominant performance also gave Carman a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Avery Perk, who posted 13 points.

Despite the loss, Milton-Union saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Addi Case put up 12 points.

The win made it two in a row for Riverside and bumps their season record up to 6-15. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 35.3% in those games and 20.2% outside of them. As for Milton-Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.
