Basketball Game Preview: Newton Railroaders vs. Eisenhower Tigers

The Newton Railroaders will face off against the Eisenhower Tigers at 7:25 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Newton was fully in charge, breezing past Arkansas City 66-35. Given the Railroaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 297th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Eisenhower faced off against Goddard on Tuesday. Eisenhower fell to Goddard 60-55. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The win got Newton back to even at 7-7. As for Eisenhower, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Newton was able to grind out a solid victory over Eisenhower when the teams last played back in January, winning 48-41. Will Newton repeat their success, or does Eisenhower have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
