Lake Cormorant won the last time they faced Oxford and Emily Huerta did her part to make sure it happened again. Lake Cormorant came out on top against Oxford by a score of 3-1 on Thursday for which the team can thank Huerta, who had 19 digs and five aces. She has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Lake Cormorant had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-12, 25-21, 27-25.

Oxford's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anna Henderson, who had 19 digs and five assists. Grace Kiffin was another key player, getting 19 assists and six digs.

The win made it two in a row for Lake Cormorant and bumps their season record up to 23-8. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 11-8 Center Hill (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 64.2% over those games). As for Oxford, their defeat dropped their record down to 24-10.

Lake Cormorant wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Center Hill on the 27th. Oxford has also already played their next matchup (against Lafayette), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
