Softball Game Preview: Phelps Hornets vs. Pike County Central Hawks

Phelps is 0-10 against Pike County Central since April of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Hornets will host the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Phelps' offense. They lost 15-0 to Mount View on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Pike County Central came up short against Hazard on Saturday, falling 9-1. The Hawks have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Phelps' loss dropped their record down to 0-4-1. As for Pike County Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

Phelps might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Pike County Central in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
