Recap: Green Meadow Waldorf Warriors vs. Varsity Opponent
The Green Meadow Waldorf Warriors entered their tilt with Varsity Opponent with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Green Meadow Waldorf snuck past Varsity Opponent with a 50-46 win on Friday.
Green Meadow Waldorf's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ben Vaterlaus led the charge by scoring 21 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Vaterlaus has scored at least 25% of Green Meadow Waldorf's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Cooper, who scored 16 points.
Green Meadow Waldorf's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Varsity Opponent, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost 14 of their last 16 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 71-298-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Green Meadow Waldorf will take on Winston Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Varsity Opponent, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Columbus Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Columbus Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Tuesday.
