Basketball Game Preview: East Chambers Buccaneers vs. Buna Cougars

The East Chambers Buccaneers are taking a road trip to face off against the Buna Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

East Chambers is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Kountze just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 97-53 loss at the hands of the Lions. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 389th, while the Lions are ranked 117th).

Meanwhile, Buna entered their tilt with Warren on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 46-33 victory over the Warriors.

Buna has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-19 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.2 points per game. As for East Chambers, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 24-8.

East Chambers strolled past Buna in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 66-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Chambers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
