Basketball Game Preview: Ridgeline Falcons vs. Mead Panthers

Ridgeline hasn't had much luck against Mead recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Ridgeline Falcons will venture away from home to square off against the Mead Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Mead is hoping to do what Ferris couldn't on Friday: put an end to Ridgeline's winning streak, which now stands at six games. Ridgeline blew past Ferris 68-32. 68 seems to be a good number for the Falcons as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Ridgeline's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emma Myers led the charge by going 11 for 20 on her way to 30 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. Myers has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Madilyn Crowley, who went 8 for 14 on her way to 19 points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Ridgeline smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mead). They took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging a 71-41 victory over Cheney. With the Panthers ahead 45-22 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Ridgeline's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points per game. As for Mead, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Ridgeline came up short against Mead in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 53-47. Can Ridgeline avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
