Volleyball Recap: Alpha Academy Takes a Loss

Alpha Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Village Christian Academy Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-16, 25-13.

Patrick Leal was nothing short of spectacular for Village Christian Academy: he had nine aces and three digs. Those nine aces gave Leal a new career-high. Zachery Clark also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.

Alpha Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Village Christian Academy, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 10-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alpha Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Fayetteville Academy at 4:30 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Village Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Ascend Leadership at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights are facing the Aviators at the right time seeing as the Aviators are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
