Basketball Game Preview: New Hampstead Phoenix vs. Perry Panthers

Having just played yesterday, the New Hampstead Phoenix will head out on the road to face off against the Perry Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. New Hampstead will be strutting in after a victory while Perry will be coming in after a defeat.

New Hampstead took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They secured a 68-63 W over Warner Robins.

Meanwhile, Perry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-46 heartbreaker at the hands of Wayne County. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered since November 23, 2024.

New Hampstead has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Perry, their loss dropped their record down to 3-16.

Everything came up roses for New Hampstead against Perry in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as the squad secured a 64-32 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Hampstead since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
