Basketball Game Preview: Porter Spartans vs. Fort Bend Travis Tigers

Having just played yesterday, the Porter Spartans will jump right back in to play the Fort Bend Travis Tigers at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Porter is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Westfield just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 58-36 to the Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 575th, while the Mustangs are ranked 250th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fort Bend Travis). They walked away with a 67-55 win over Cypress Lakes on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Fort Bend Travis now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Porter, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.

Things could have been worse for Porter, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 45-29 loss to Fort Bend Travis in their previous matchup back in November. Can Porter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
