Baseball Preview: Burlingame Panthers vs. Aragon Dons

Burlingame is 8-2 against Aragon since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Burlingame Panthers will face off against the Aragon Dons at 4:00 p.m. Aragon took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Burlingame, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Burlingame faced off against San Mateo on Thursday. Burlingame's pitchers stepped up to hand San Mateo an 11-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Panthers have posted since February 24, 2024.

Burlingame got a great performance from Dionisios Vorrises as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits Vorrises has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Grayson Howard was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Slade Flores, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Aragon unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak dating back to last season on Saturday. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lincoln.

Charlie Henderson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 4-for-4.

The victory made it two in a row for Burlingame and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Aragon, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Burlingame took their win against Aragon in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Burlingame since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
