Softball Game Preview: Sunset Bison vs. Newman Smith Trojans

The Sunset Bison will take on the Newman Smith Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Newman Smith took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Sunset, who comes in off a win.

Sunset's tournament run continued when they took on Lamar on Saturday. Sunset put the hurt on Lamar with a sharp 15-3 win.

Meanwhile, Newman Smith was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 17-0 to Grand Prairie.

Newman Smith's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Sunset, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Everything went Sunset's way against Newman Smith in their previous matchup back in April of 2019, as Sunset made off with a 12-2 win. Will Sunset repeat their success, or does Newman Smith have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
