Soccer Game Preview: Munford vs. Kirby

Munford will challenge Kirby at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Munford is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Munford took on Brighton on Friday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Cougars who were credited with the victory. Munford got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Brighton's four. Maddox Reynoso had to tread lightly for part of the match after he was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble Munford got from the refs.

Eli Magan and Matthew Fleenor scored both of Munford's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 31 goals.

Kirby heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Friday. They lost 3-0 to Wooddale. The defeat continues a trend for Kirby in their meetings with Wooddale: they've now lost three in a row.

Munford's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five contests. As for Kirby, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3-1.
