Volleyball Recap: Six Straight Home Wins for Garaway

There's no place like home for Garaway, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against the Indian Valley Braves on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Pirates: when they faced off against the Braves back in September, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

The win didn't come easy: Indian Valley scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-18, 25-22.

Among those leading the charge was Kate Miller, who had five aces and three digs. Those five aces gave her a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Garaway was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They are 9-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

When it comes to explaining why Indian Valley lost, don't look at Gionna Miles. Despite the final result, she had 14 digs and three aces. Miles has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 19 times she's played. Lily Lewis also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Garaway pushed their record up to 12-8 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Indian Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.

Garaway wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Ridgewood on the 8th. As for Indian Valley, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Sandy Valley on the 8th.
