Baseball Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

Lincoln suffered their closest defeat since April 1st on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Washington Eagles by a score of 11-9. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 back in March.

Lincoln got a big performance out of Nicholas Chiu, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI. The Mustangs are 2-1 when Chiu posts three or more RBI, but 8-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jerry Hou, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Washington, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-15 record this season.

While Lincoln had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
