Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cape Fear walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 5-2 margin over the Durham School of the Arts Bulldogs on Thursday. Cape Fear might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by three goals or more this season.

They hit Durham School of the Arts with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Addison Gunter (2), Shea Bieniek, Kayla Brown, and Andi Brinker.

Cape Fear has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those eight games. As for Durham School of the Arts, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-9 record.

Coming up, Cape Fear will face off against Western Alamance at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Western Alamance will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Cape Fear surely won't give up without a fight. Durham School of the Arts does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
