Football Recap: Eastern Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Eastern was riding high fresh off their 28-6 takedown of Cherry Hill West last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings fell 35-28 to the Pennsauken Indians on Saturday. The Vikings were not able to make up for their defeat to the Indians from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Pennsauken's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Randall Blount, who rushed for 177 yards and one score while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, and also picked up 48 receiving yards. Blount's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 109 rushing yards. Nazyr Negron was another key signal caller, throwing for 184 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes.

Eastern's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2. As for Pennsauken, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastern will challenge Trenton Central on Friday. As for Pennsauken, they will square off against Eastside at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
