The Munster Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the New Palestine Dragons at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Munster is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
On Wednesday, Munster got the win against Highland by a conclusive 15-3. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Ally Compton and Kaylee O'Connell were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Compton struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, O'Connell tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Compton has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Compton went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three doubles, while O'Connell went 3-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits Compton has posted since back in March.

Munster kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, New Palestine fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Pendleton Heights on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Arabians by a score of 3-2. The Dragons' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Sadey Hughbanks spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits.

Munster's record now sits at 16-8. As for New Palestine, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Munster hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. However, it's not like New Palestine struggles in that department as they've averaged .330. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Munster skirted past New Palestine 5-4 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
