Baseball Recap: Gulf Coast Triumphs

The Gulf Coast Sharks had just enough and edged out the St. John's Cadets 7-6 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sharks.

Nash Turner looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Gulf Coast's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Eric Hermanson, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Gulf Coast's record is now 14-7. As for St. John's, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gulf Coast will head out to take on Bonita Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. John's, they will square off against Bishop Verot at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cadets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
