Basketball Recap: Ingalls Takes a Loss

Ingalls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 48-29 to the Hodgeman County Longhorns. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Longhorns apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Ingalls still got an impressive performance from Olivia Stein, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. Stein's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points.

Leading Hodgeman County to victory were Taylor Bamberger and Kylee Reece. Bamberger went 5-for-6 on her way to 11 points and three steals, while Reece posted nine points and six steals. Those six steals gave Reece a new career-high. Aidan Lonnberg was another key player, putting up five points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Ingalls' loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Hodgeman County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Ingalls has already played their next matchup, a 38-33 defeat against South Central on the 17th. As for Hodgeman County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 53-23 victory against Satanta on the 17th.
