Basketball Recap: Eagle Valley Devils vs. Summit Tigers
Eagle Valley fought the good fight in their overtime game against Summit on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to the Summit Tigers. The Devils were up 40-20 in the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Eagle Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Addison Mandeville, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 17 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Mandeville has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Zakia Shreeve, who posted 12 points and six boards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Summit to victory, but perhaps none more so than Phoenix Meyer, who went 6 for 13 en route to 22 points. The dominant performance gave Meyer a new career-high in points. River Close was another key player, putting up seven points and 15 rebounds.
Eagle Valley is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10. As for Summit, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Eagle Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 55-26 victory against Battle Mountain on the 30th. Summit has also already played their next contest, a 60-50 win against Glenwood Springs on the 30th.
