Baseball Recap: Barnwell's Winning Streak Snapped at 12 Games

It was a good run, but Barnwell unfortunately witnessed the end of their 12-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Batesburg-Leesville Panthers by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warhorses of the 14-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

Barnwell saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Austin, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Barnwell's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Batesburg-Leesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, Barnwell and Batesburg-Leesville will both be playing Saluda the next time they take the field. The Warhorses will host the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Panthers will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
