Basketball Recap: Cherokee Skates Past Summit Charter Academy with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cherokee). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging an 81-20 win over the Summit Charter Academy Bears. The victory was nothing new for the Braves as they're now sitting on three straight.

Cherokee's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Utsela Saunooke, who went 5-for-8 en route to 11 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Matix Stamper, who posted six points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Cherokee was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Summit Charter Academy only racked up two.

Cherokee's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Summit Charter Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.

Cherokee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-50 loss against Varsity Opponent on the 13th. Summit Charter Academy and Robbinsville will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
