Baseball Recap: Archbishop Mcnicholas Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Archbishop McNicholas, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Bishop Fenwick Falcons on Tuesday. The Rockets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Falcons, too.

Archbishop McNicholas got a great performance from Nathan Kramer as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave Kramer a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Archbishop McNicholas' victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Chad Dannemiller, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Dannemiller also put up a hit, which was his first of the season.

The win got Archbishop McNicholas back to even at 2-2. As for Bishop Fenwick, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Archbishop McNicholas will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
