Teague has gone 7-2 against Fairfield recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Lions will take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Teague is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Teague lost 15-4 to Groesbeck last Monday.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Fairfield made sure to put some runs up on the board against Groesbeck on Tuesday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Goats with a sharp 10-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Haylee Allen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Madelyn Morrison was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kaylie Ridge, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Fairfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Groesbeck only managed five hits.

Fairfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Teague, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.

Teague suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Fairfield when the teams last played back in March. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
