Basketball Recap: Easley Piles Up the Points Against Beaufort Academy

While Easley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Beaufort Academy Eagles 72-26. The Green Wave have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 27 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Easley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rj Stack, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Stack has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played. Ethan Crews was another key player, going 6 for 14 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds.

Easley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

With the win, Easley broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-3. As for Beaufort Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Easley will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Greenwood at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Beaufort Academy also won't see the court for a while: their next contest is against Andrew Jackson Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 14, 2025.
